How to find an internship in Europe

Published 22 October 2026 · Independent editorial guide

Start with a specific brief

Choose two countries, one or two role families, your dates and the languages you can work in. A focused shortlist is easier to act on than searching all of Europe.

Use three search routes

Combine specialist platforms, employer career pages and your university network. Search in the local language too. Erasmus Careers, iAgora and country specialists are useful starting points.

Tailor your application

Use a concise CV and a short message explaining what you can contribute, why this team interests you and when you are available. State any requirement for an educational agreement.

Keep a search log

Track the role URL, date, contact, application status and next step. Follow the employer’s stated timeline and avoid sending sensitive identity documents before verifying the organisation.

Information is a starting point. Confirm current requirements and funding with your institution and the competent authority.
